Xpeng’s flying model “X2” launched

This week, Xpeng Motors Chairman Xiaopeng He announced the official release of the fifth-generation aircraft X2 by Xpeng Huitian via Weibo. He said that this marks one step closer to the safe and widely usable flying cars.

He previously stated that Xpeng Motors is gradually deploying into the field of flight and many others. In the second half of this year, Xpeng Motors will launch a new vehicle in one field. At the same time, he believes that the cars of the future will be both drive-able and fly-able.

Xpeng’s fifth-generation aircraft “X2” has a maximum take-off weight of 560kg and a bare-body weight of only 360kg. According to official channels, it has a battery life of 35 minutes and a maximum flight speed of 130km/h.

At the same time, this aircraft has the capability of autonomous flight path planning. Using multiple sensors, the aircraft can achieve ground monitoring, zero-blind spot environmental perception, self-service return and landing, and two-way real-time communication within 100 kilometers.

In terms of safety design, Xpeng’s X2 has eight independent batteries, which can actualize redundant power supply, its 4-axis and 8-propeller are also power back-upped by multiple motors.

The aircraft also houses safety guarantee measures such as a complete vehicle ejection parachute, and a 24-hour monitoring system to provide a complete and secure safe flight.
