Xiaomi releases brand-new 5G UWB technology

This week, Xiaomi released its version of UWB (Ultra-wideband) technology — “One Touch Connection (YiZhiLian)”.

It is a new generation of connection technology with spatial positioning capability and is the first to realize a revolutionary way of directional interaction. As long as the smart device maintains pointed towards a mobile phone, it can control the mobile phone with one finger through UWB technology.

It is a new generation of connection technology, which works like an “indoor GPS” that can accurately sense the spatial location of smart devices. The ultra-high-precision positioning ability allows the mobile phone to directly ping the smart device, connecting to the corresponding control card.

Xiaomi Chairman Jun Lei said at the 10th-anniversary speech, that Xiaomi’s 2020 R&D budget exceeds $1.4 billion.

According to Xiaomi Group’s fiscal year 2019 financial report, smartphone business revenue accounted for 59.3%, IoT and consumer products business revenue accounted for a year-on-year increase of 5 percentage points to 30.2%, and Internet service revenue accounted for 9.6%.

As for the smartphone business, a report released by the market research agency Canalys shows that in the second quarter of 2020, Xiaomi surpassed Huawei to become the third-largest smartphone brand in the European market.
