On July 27, 2021, the “Trusted Cloud Summit (TRUCS 2021)” sponsored by the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology and China Communications Standards Association was held in Beijing.

Wei Li, deputy director of the Institute of Cloud Computing and Big Data of the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology, officially released the “Cloud Computing White Paper” at the meeting.

This is the seventh time that the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology has issued a cloud computing white paper. The white paper provides an in-depth analysis of the six major trends in the development of the cloud computing industry.

Wei Li said that China’s economy rebounded steadily in 2020, and the cloud computing market grew explosively, with the overall scale reaching $32.3 billion, a growth rate of 56.6%. The development of cloud computing has become increasingly mature and has gradually entered the deep-water zone.

From the perspective of the development process, cloud computing has gone through the formation period from 2006 to 2010, the development period from 2010 to 2015, and the application period from 2015 to 2020, and it has entered a mature period.

Cloud computing has revolutionized software engineering from the inside out, changing it from software development to become the organizational culture of the enterprise.

Cloud computing brought three characteristics of distributed, decoupling, and engineering to software architecture. Decoupled components (microservices, middleware) provide services in a distributed form, and DevOps solutions create an engineered development process.
