Tencent announced the upgraded version of TDSQL PG
On August 11, Tencent Cloud announced the PG version upgrade of the database open-source product TDSQL.
After 18 months of polishing, the newly upgraded TDSQL PG version saves 60% of memory usage; SQL statement compatibility and ease of use have been enhanced.
According to Yuesen Li, Technical Director of Tencent Cloud Database, the TDSQL PG version is a database product with HTAP capabilities and can provide a mature one-stop solution after years of continuous research and development investment by Tencent.
Presently, it is recognized by users in industries such as the European Space Agency, the National Astronomical Observatory, medical and health, retail, and other industries.
The TDSQL PG version of the distributed database engine independently developed by Tencent Cloud has been officially opened source in 2019. It maintains a small upgrade every month and a major upgrade every six months, helping many developers to apply cutting-edge database technology and promote the continuous improvement of the open-source community ecosystem.
Zhang Wensheng, chairman of the PG China Community, also pointed out: “The PostgreSQL community will carry out deeper cooperation with TDSQL in technology, ecology, and enterprise services to provide customers and enterprises with better support and services. We will build a database open-source ecosystem together.”
