Realme announces new models of Q2 Series

This week, Realme, a smartphone brand previously owned by OPPO, released three new models of the Q2 series.

The series is equipped with MediaTek’s Dimensity 800U chip, still specializing in “longer battery life + cost-effective”.

Amongst the new models, Realme Q2 uses a 30W smart flash charge, with a battery capacity of 5000mAh; Q2 Pro is equipped with OUJIA’s flagship-level 65W smart flash charge, which can fully charge a 4300mAh battery in 33 minutes.

The Realme Q2 Pro carries roughly the same specifications as the vanilla Realme Q2, with some minute changes. It houses a 6.4-inch full-HD + AMOLED display with a 180Hz touch sampling rate and a 90.8% screen-to-body ratio.

According to a report released by BCN, OPPO’s sales in the Japanese SIM-Free smartphone market in September 2020 increased 1.4 times (an increase of 139.3%) compared with the same month last year, ranking first with a market share of 22.8%.

There is a market share gap of up to 7.4 percentage points between Oppo and Huawei, which ranked 2nd.

In addtion, according to Counterpoint, Samsung is currently the leading brand in the European smartphone market, with a market share of 35%, followed by Apple with 17%. Due to Huawei’s status of under US sanctions, manufacturers such as OPPO, Xiaomi, and Samsung are planning to divide Huawei’s share of the market amongst themselves.
