Kuaishou plans partnership with NBA in branding strategy

Following the completion of the CBA and the Tokyo Olympics, Kuaishou is currently communicating with the NBA for a strategic partnership. The two parties plan to cooperate comprehensively in terms of content and brand commercialization.

At the content level, Kuaishou will hold the rights to the second creation of NBA content and the copyrights of past games.

In terms of brand commercialization, Kuaishou plans to deeply cooperate with the NBA to explore multiple cooperation models in terms of traffic commercialization, advertising, and live broadcast e-commerce.

Both parties are expected to announce the progress later this year.

China Basketball Federation (Beijing) Sports Co., Ltd. and Kuaishou Sports jointly announced that Kuaishou has become the official live broadcast platform and official short video platform of the CBA league.

In addition, on May 21, Kuaishou officially announced the signing of an authorization cooperation agreement with China Central Radio and Television. Kuaishou has obtained the video-on-demand and short video rights for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics, officially becoming a copyrighted broadcasting agency for these two events. This means that Kuaishou has become the world’s first short video and live broadcast platform to obtain broadcast copyright for the Olympic Games.
