With the general trend of product iteration, decentralization of new functions, and consumption classification, China’s wearable device market has maintained a stable and rapid development.

According to IDC’s “China Wearable Device Market Quarterly Tracking Report, Second Quarter 2021”, China’s wearable device market shipped 36.14 million units in Q2’21, a year-on-year increase of 33.7%. Among them, the shipment of the earwear equipment market was 19.96 million units, a year-on-year increase of 58.2%.

Aside from the improving convenience of wireless and true wireless forms, the price decline of active noise reduction products has further stimulated the user’s demand for Bluetooth headphones and promoted significant growth in the market.

Shipments in the watch market were 9.66 million units, a year-on-year increase of 30.2%.

Both adult and children’s watch markets are on the rise. With the increasing demand for sports and health products and the constant upgrade of products, the market acceptance for adult watches has increased significantly. Children’s watches have also picked up significantly in the recovery of social activities. Shipments in the bracelet market were 6.41 million units, a year-on-year decrease of 5.0%.

Affected by the overall market price raise and the increasing acceptance of watches, gradually narrowing the development space of the bracelet market. The market will enter a structural adjustment period from the “quantity era”, focusing further on product experience and user conversion.

IDC believes that China’s wearable market will usher in more intense competition in the second half of 2021. This competition will be reflected in the price competition of the ear-wearable device market, and in the competition between bracelets and watch format, which will be revealed in the long run of watch sensing technology advancements.
