On September 23rd, Pingan Zhang, Huawei Senior VP, Huawei Cloud CEO, and President of Consumer Cloud Services, announced that Huawei Cloud had officially launched its blockchain services.

Xiaojun Zhang, Huawei’s blockchain CSO, previously revealed that Huawei started its deployments in the blockchain industry in 2015 and that it was one of the first giant companies in China to start blockchain research.

Pingan Zhang said that using the newly developed blockchain engine, a single chain can sustain 50,000 product information on the chain every second, and the throughput has been increased 10-fold. Currently, this service has been implemented in the Internet e-commerce industry and is available for the cross-border life cycle data of products such as red wine.

Huawei Cloud’s new blockchain service will support 10,000 participants and opens the blockchain-based DCI protection service for digital copyright.

In fact, to assist the transformation of the industry into a trusted digital society, Huawei Cloud had released its BCS (Blockchain Service) platform as early as 2018.

The platform is built with an open source-based blockchain technology and Huawei’s enterprise-level blockchain cloud service products, which took many years to accumulate, in core technology fields such as distributed parallel computing, PaaS, data management, and security encryption.

Huawei Cloud Blockchain Service is a general-purpose basic technology that’s open, easy-to-use, flexible, and efficient. It focuses on the construction of a blockchain cloud technology platform to help companies build enterprise-level blockchain industry solutions and applications in a quick and efficient manner, then jointly promote the implementation of blockchain application scenarios, creating a public trust infrastructure for a blockchain-based win-win ecology.
