2021 Hurun Global 500: Tencent remains on Top
The “2021 Hurun Global 500” was released this week. A total of 47 Chinese companies on the list have a total value of $5,538.9 billion USD, which is higher than the sum of Japanese and French companies in the following rankings.
The top ranking in China is still Tencent, whose value fell by 3% to $692.3 billion USD, maintaining sixth place in the world ranking; followed by Alibaba, whose value fell by 18% to $584.6 billion USD, whose world ranking fell to ninth.
Apple is the reigning champion on the “Hurun Global 500” list with a value of $2,430.9 billion USD, an increase of 15% from last year. Microsoft, Amazon, and Alphabet ranked second with $2,107.8 billion USD, third with $1,800.1 billion USD, and fourth with $1,723.2 billion USD respectively.
The “Big Four” has added an average value of $1 trillion USD in the past two years.
The 48 new companies on the list include two vaccine companies: BioNTech backed by Germany Pfizer and Zhifei Bio from China.
19 American companies and 7 Chinese companies are new to the list.
There are 19 new companies on the list that were established after 2000. The fields of software and services have eight, financial services have seven, and medical and health industries have six new companies on the list, respectively.
Among the seven newly listed companies in China, KuaiShou, which went public this year, topped the list with a value of $80.4 billion USD, ranking 184th in the world.
